MAY 2011

The Artist I recently checked out the latest double CD from 2 piece band Shittish entitled The Perfect Shade of Green. Skittish comes to us from Minnesota & is made up of Jeff Noller (vocals & guitar) & Vonnie Kyle (vocals, keyboards & slew of session players. This is their 3rd release to date.

The band Noller & Kyle write & sing all compositions & is backed up by a 4 piece rock standard. Their singing & playing abilities are solid across the board. I would say this band possess intermediate playing abilities with advance songwriting abilities. Timing seems to be spot on within the alternative rock, power pop grooves. Kyle & Noller both share the vocal spotlight & bring to the table allot of passion &  intensity. This 2 vocal format matches the alternative rock, power pop format perfectly & provides solid rotation via the double CD package. The music The music possesses is marketable & highly original. Lyrical content is a big mystery wrapped up inside an enigma - highly entertaining to say the least. The songs All pieces strike the perfect balance between psychedelic punk & alternative rock, with a dash of power pop persona. All songs are  extremely catchy. The songs themselves are clearly above average even flirt with brilliant. The vibe simply put - this CD will keep you guessing, scratching your head & highly entertained all at the same time. The songs are all marketable fascinating & captivating - delivering dark yet unpredictable music. The production professional grade from top to bottom. The good Honorable mentions go out to Skittish for not being afraid to let it all hang out musically. This duo is amazing together & definitely compliment each other. Skittish & is not trying to be some popish band striving for mass appeal, instead they are being himself musically. In this world of overly corporate entertainment Skittish definitely stands out from other artists in a good way. My favorite track on the CD is "Bump in the Night" The bad Nothing to report.  The ugly Nothing to report.

The verdict The Perfect Shade of Green by Skittish is an amazing double CD production - end of subject. With 24 songs to chose from it comes fully loaded. The songwriting - clearly above average, the band with a cutting edge sound. Again it's amazing how marketable these 2 are together. Fans of tripped out power pop, punk & alternative rock with s psychedelic twang will love Skittish. The Bottom Line If you are looking for an amazing musical experience that is fresh, fun & Entertaining - look no further.
