The Verdict 3 out of 5

The Artist I recently checked out the latest EP from Portuguese band Noidz entitled Transmetal Age. Band members are: Band members include Zork, Monkka, Dr, Zee, Adion, & Lunattika.

The band The 5 members do all compositions, sampling, & plays all musical instrumentation on the EP. Their playing & singing abilities are pretty solid across the board. I would say they possesses intermediate playing & singing abilities with advance songwriting skills. Timing seems to be spot on within the melodic techno pop grooves that push hard. Vocals from Monika manage to deliver effective ear candy that meshes well with the music. The music The music possesses a highly original, ambient-alternative pop rock edge. Lyrical content is a big mystery wrapped up inside an enigma - highly entertaining to say the least. Very thought provoking & to the point. The songs All pieces strike the prefect balance between psychedelic alternative pop, with electronic & Industrial ambience. The songs themselves are clearly above average even flirt with brilliant. The vibe simply put - this EP pushes hard & is in your face, in a good way. The production is professional grade. The good Honorable mentions go out to these 5 for not being afraid to let it all hang out musically. Noidz is a highly creative group of artists that are not striving for mass appeal, instead he is clearly being himself musically. In this world of overly corporate entertainment. Noidz definitely stand out from other artists in a good way. My favorite track on the CD is "O Pastor". The bad The biggest problem with this EP is to short. Just when I was getting into it - poof it was over before it really ever began. The ugly At the end of the day this EP just feels like an incomplete statement to me.

The verdict Transmetal (EP) by Noidz is a very entertaining EP - end of subject. You would be wise to keep a watchful eye on them - they are cutting edge. The songwriting - clearly above average & strongly personifies the Human condition.  Like I said earlier, if your in a dark mood, this CD will only put more dark thoughts into your head. Fans of melodic, ambient techno pop will love this one. The Bottom Line If you are looking for a catchy EP to push you hard & deliver a sound that is unique & unpredictable - look no further.
