The Artist I recently checked out the latest CD from singer/songwriter/performer Hunter entitled Pressure (2012). Hunter from New York, NY.

The band The playing, sampling abilities and production value are solid across the board. I would say Hunter and company possess intermediate playing and sampling abilities and intermediate writing abilities. Timing seems to be spot on within the dance-pop grooves. Hunter's voice is effective as he delivers many solid vocal performances that match this style of music perfectly. The music Tenacious, in your face, energetic, and highly melodic are a few words I would use to describe Hunter. At times even intense and passionate. Musical textures reminiscent of Black Eyes Peas, P-Diddy and Timbaland. Ė anything catchy and danceable. If you like those kinds of artists you will no doubt get a kick out of this CD. The songs Above average songs. Very simple yet effective, conservative, and passionate It strikes the perfect balance between Trance, Dance and Power Pop. Hunter and company are clearly being themselves as performers on these songs and this is what emerges. My favorite thing about the song is "Sexercize"  The vibe Great vibe. Perfect for late night college parties, clubs, and late night dance hang outs. production delivers a lot of musical variety. I give Hunter credit for combining many popular genera's successfully. It takes a masterful production touch to do this right. Pressure refuses to try to hard Ė thatís what makes it so amazing The good Very likeable and marketable artist, fun to listen to and definitely adds fuel to the fire. The voice and presence of Hunter does exactly what it's intended to do - push you onto the dance floor, and stick in your head. The bad CD is respective and overly intense at times, I think this is mainly due to the heightened mix. These types of mixes are becoming more and more popular these days and are really designed to maximize radio marketability. I get that,  but they strip your senses down to their core. I heard one critic say listening to some music these days is like riding a mechanical bull. The ugly Nothing to report.

The verdict Pressure by Hunter will definitely get the blood pumping. The CD gets itís point across. Again  the most amazing thing about Pressure is the passionate and energetic grooves you get from it, as soon as it hits the speakers. Hunter has proven himself with this release. and fans of catchy dance pop with an Urban flair will tumble for him and like him for all that he is.
